New Jersey Transit 6003-6004 were 1973 GMC P8M-4905A coaches. They were originally delivered to Manhattan Lines.
In the early years of New Jersey Transit, many second-hand coaches were purchased to provide service until a new fleet of custom-built cruiser buses were delivered (6100-6799). The used buses were repainted into the standard NJ Transit livery of the time, featuring diagonal blue, purple and orange stripes.
