New Jersey Transit NGV1-NGV5 are 1991 Flxible Metro C 40102-8C transit buses. The buses feature Cummins L10G engines and ZF Ecomat transmissions.

Originally slated as Buses 1722-1726 from the 1989 Flxible order, these five buses were eventually built in the summer of 1991 as compressed natural gas (CNG) buses, NJ Transit's first exploration of an alternative fuel source. The buses had special "It's A Natural" graphics on their sides and ran out of Orange, Mercer and Hamilton garages before being shipped off to Double A Transportation in Connecticut, where at least one was retrofitted with a Detroit Diesel 50G engine and an Allison VR-731RH transmission.
