The North American Bus Industries 42-BRT is a 42 foot low floor transit bus designed for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service. It was launched in 2008 and is a derivative of the 60-BRT. After NABI was acquired by New Flyer, the 42-BRT, along with NABI's other products, were discontinued. Outstanding orders for the 42-BRT were completed in 2015 with Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority and Foothill Transit among the last customers.

The 42-BRT uses a welded steel structure that is phosphate coated to protect from corrosion. Wheel housings, stairwells, main electrical compartment and battery compartment are stainless steel. Body panels are either aluminium or fibreglass.

The 42-BRT features a wide plug-type door at the front and is available with a wide or narrow rear door. Flush mounted windows are an option. The 42-BRT is available with conventional diesel, diesel-electric hybrid, and natural gas drivetrains. One of the earliest orders, built for Los Angeles, used a gasoline-electric hybrid drivetrain.
