The Optare Versa is a low floor midibus in a class between the Solo and Tempo in their product range. The Versa is intended to offer higher capacity while maintaining maneuverability. It was launched at the 2006 Euro Bus Expo.

Initially available in lengths of 10.4 or 11.1 metres, a shorter 9.7 metre length was made available in 2010 followed by an 11.7 metre length. The Versa is available in a single or dual door configuration. A diesel-electric hybrid powered version using ISE Corporation super capacitors and Siemens drive system was launched at the 2010 Euro Bus Expo. It has received Low Carbon Emission Bus certification.[1] Also in 2010, the first fully electric versions of the Versa were ordered by Travel de Courcey.[2]

The original lower front fascia had the headlights and turn signals lined horizontally. This was revised in 2010 with the turn signal moved under the outermost headlight. This was first featured at the 2010 Euro Bus Expo with a Versa destined for the Greater Manchester Integrated Transport Authority. A further revision sees the headlights and turn signals stacked vertically and continuing from the path of the A-pillars.
