The Régie intermunicipale de transport Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine (Intermunicipal transportation board of Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine, abbreviated RéGÎM) is the public transit agency serving the Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine region in the province of Québec.

History

Service originally debuted in 2003 in Haute-Gaspésie operated by the non-profit organization Transport Sans Frontières, but went public in 2010 and was re-branded Réseau de transport collectif Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine (Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine Regional Transit Network). The pilot project structure was made permanent; in 2013, the Régie took over the operations of the previous NPOs as an intermunicipal board in order to get taxation power, thus steady funding.

RéGÎM's mandate considerably expanded in 2015[6] to compensate for Orléans Express interurban service cutbacks in the peninsula. RéGÎM, with the collaboration of Ministère des Transports du Québec, has setup a series of 7 shuttles to link the 11 stops previously served by Orléans with the 10 communities that have seen their interurban stop eliminated (including the renowned Percé).
