Rochester Transit Corporation logo

Rochester Transit Corporation (RTC) is a former transit system founded in 1946 that served Rochester, New York until operations were later taken over by the Rochester Transit System, later changed to Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority (RGRTA) in 1967. Services were previously part of Rochester Transit Lines, a subsidiary of New York State Railways.

  • NOTE: Certain pages were made under the former fleet of the RGRTA, since certain models were merged into the new transit agency in 1967.

  • Stops are made at: General Motors, Driving Park, Lexington, Glenwood, Emerson, Edgerton Park, Main & Oak, City Hall, Court Street, Meigs-Goodman, Monroe, Culver, Colby, Winton, East Avenue, Halfway, Highland, Ashbourne, Elmwood, Sunset and Rowlands.[1]

  • (1944) Beach Road at City Line via Lake, State, Main, Elm, Chestnut, James, Court, Union, Gardiner Park, Alexander Park, Colby, East Avenue, Winton to Highland. Bus then looped over Highland, Mayflower, Warrington, Claybourne, Templeton and Highland.[2]
2 Thurston - Parsells
  • (1944) Thurston and Brooks via Thurston, Arnett, Genesee, Main, Goodman, Webster and Parsells to Culver.[2]
3 Lyell Avenue
  • (1944) Main and Gibbs via Gibbs, Grove, North, Main, Plymouth, Verona, Saratoga, Lyell to Glide.[2]
    • One extension operated over Lyell, Lyell-Spencerport Road, Long Pond Road to Cole Avenue Terminal.
    • A second extension operated Lyell, Howard Road to Mirimar.
    • A third extension operated from Lyell and Glide via Glide, Emerson, Stenson, and Lexington to Lee Road.
4 Genesee - University
  • (1944) Genesee Valley Park via Elmwood, Genesee, Main and University to Culver.[2]
    • Part of the service continued Culver, Humboldt and Winton, looping Browncroft, Quentin Road and Merchants.
    • Another part of the service operated to Melrose and Brooks via Main, Genesee, Melrose, Wellington and Sawyer, looping Maxwell, Brooks and Millbank.
5 South - St Paul - Summerville
  • (1944) Strong Hospital via Crittenden, Fort Hill Terrace, South Avenue, St Paul, to Seneca Park Zoo and Summerville.[2]
6 Webster - Jefferson
  • (1944) Culver and Bay via Culver, Richland, Coverly, Bay, Webster, Goodman, Main, Clarissa, Bronson and Jefferson, looping via Cottage and Steward.[2]
7 Monroe - North Clinton
  • (1944) Cobbs Hill Park via Monroe and Clinton Avenues to Ridge Road.[2]
    • North extension from Ridge Road via North Clinton Avenue, Rogers Parkway, Seneca Avenue, Titus Avenue to Cooper Road.
    • South extension from Cobbs Hill Park via Monroe Avenue to Pittsford and Mendon.
