San Francisco Municipal Railway 1016-1040 are 1952 St. Louis PCC streetcars. These are the last PCC cars ever built in North America.
Most of the cars were retired in 1982. Some were scrapped, while others were sent to museums. MUNI has six cars in storage pending future restoration. 1040, the very last PCC car built in North America, continued to operate until the late 1990s. 1040 was rebuilt by Brookville in 2013, and is the only streetcar from this class in active revenue service today.
