The Société de transport de Trois-Rivières (STTR) serves the city of Trois-Rivières, which is just about half way between Montréal and Québec City. The STTR offers 15 regular bus routes and paratransit services, as well as school shuttles for local high schools. Trois-Rivières has a population of 144 472 people (in early 2024) over 332,1 km2 of territory. The STTR buses average 3 084 266 km annually and handicap buses 351 820 km in 2019.

History

Service was previously provided by Corporation intermunicipale de transport des Forges (CITF) from January 3rd, 1981 until December 31st, 2001.

Evening & Weekends

Evening variants of lines 4, 5, 25 & 60 were numbered 84, 85, 825 & 860 respectively between July 7th and August 21st, 2019. Line 86 ran between July 7th, 2019 and March 12th, 2023 as the weekend version of the 6. This leaves the 89 as the last line to use the old numbering system for evening and weekends.

Autobus touristique (Sightseeing Bus)

Shuttle service that starts and end at Bureau d’information touristique located at 1433, rue Notre-Dame Centre. Fare is $15 + taxes for a 48-hour ticket (except for tickets bought on a Friday). Children 12 and under ride for free.

Transport à la demande (On-Demand Transit)

As a pilot project with Blaise Transit (app), the STTR offered On-Demand Transit Service weekdays between 7 PM and midnight at all stops on its network from October 18th, 2021 to June 24th, 2022.

Vehicles used for this service were 1904 and 1905 Vicinity buses. 1906 was used as a spare unit, but regular 40-foot buses have been used when all three midibuses were not available.
