Sound Transit 136-162
Sound Transit Central Link 136-162 are light rail vehicles (LRV) built by Kinkisharyo International. Each LRV consists of three cars; A- and B-cars with driving stations and a central C-car. They are used on the Central Link Light Rail line but were delivered for the U-link extension. The cars was delivered in 2011. These were option that were taken off 101 - 135.
The LRVs are constructed of low-alloy, high-tensile steel. Construction of the frames and shells took place in Osaka, Japan with final assembly in the Puget Sound region, which along with domestic content, fulfill "Buy America" requirements.[1] The 95-foot-long vehicles are 70 percent low floor and are fully accessible. They can accommodate a total of 200 passengers and are equipped with bike racks. Each LRV is equipped with CCTV cameras, passenger counters, a WLAN maintenance connection to the maintenance facility, Ethernet trainline and a Monitoring Diagnostic System.[2]
