Sound Transit 9700-9712
Sound Transit 9700-9712 were 2005 MCI D4500 buses, ordered in 2004, and acquired in 2005. All models are 45 feet in length with seating for 57 individuals. All D4500s of this series are equipped with wheelchair lifts and have two wheelchair positions through seat adjustment. These buses are used for express services and are equipped with bike racks.
These are the first D4500s delivered for use by Sound Transit, after the agency tested an MCI bus for express services for a month in 2003. Each bus in the series had a cost of around $493,257 2005 USD.
These buses are planned for retirement in 2021. [1] These units have an estimated replacement value of $600,000 as of March 2010.
All buses in this series are stored at the Pierce County transit garage operated by Pierce Transit.
The last day in service for buses in this series was July 29th, 2022, when they were retired without replacements.
