Westlake is a Link light rail station in Seattle, Washington.

Station Details

Located near Pine Street & 4th and 5th Avenues in Seattle, Westlake Station provides access to the northern part of Seattle's downtown core, including Westlake Center, among other commercial, office and high-density residential buildings. The station serves several local King County Metro bus routes, suburban bus services operated by Sound Transit, Community Transit and King County Metro, is the southern terminus of the South Lake Union Line of the Seattle Streetcar, and is one of two termini of the Seattle Monorail. Westlake station was the northern terminus of the original Central Link Light Rail line, which started in 2009 as a service between Westlake and Tukwila.

  • September 15, 1990 - Station opened alongside the rest of the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel, operating as a station for buses only
  • September 24, 2005 - Station and tunnel temporarily closed to allow for modifications to being light rail service
  • September 24, 2007 - Station and tunnel reopened
  • July 18, 2009 - Light rail service begins
  • March 23, 2019 - Buses removed from tunnel, converting services to rail only
