Stagecoach Bluebird

Stagecoach Bluebird was a Scotish bus operator in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray, and surrounding areas. It was a division of Stagecoach Group, and was responsible for services in northeastern Scotland.

History

The predecessor to Stagecoach Bluebird was created in June 1985, when Northern Scottish Omnibuses Limited was formed from the northern operations of W. Alexander & Sons, part of the Scottish Bus Group.

Northern Scottish was purchased by Stagecoach Group in March 1991. Its legal name was changed to Bluebird Buses shortly after the acquisition by Stagecoach; this name reflected the then-current branding of most Northern Scottish services, using the historic Bluebird logo previously associated with services operated by Walter Alexander.

Following a performance review of its services in northern Scotland, Stagecoach merged most of the Highlands operation into the Bluebird license; the combined division became known as Stagecoach North Scotland.
