Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation 2101-2140

Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation 2101-2140 were 2001 35' Gillig Low Floor (G22B102N4) buses. These buses were SMART's first Gillig Low Floors, as well as the first in a large amount of Gillig Low Floors that were ordered by SMART in the early 2000's to replace it's older high-floor buses. Also beginning with this order, SMART has ordered all new heavy-duty buses 40 feet or shorter exclusively from Gillig. These were also the first buses purchased by SMART in the new millennium. Upon delivery, these replaced eleven-year-old TMC RTS-08 buses 9001-9033. This single order, which was made in 2000, made the Gillig Low Floor the most recognizable SMART bus, displacing the RTS.

Retirement of these buses gradually occurred between early 2010 and October 2014. It is unknown if any vehicles received the automated announcement system, as by the time installation started only a very small number of these remained in active service.
