Route Details

The final routing of route 465. This map also shows the current routing of route 445. (Route 445 does not serve the Royal Oak Transit Center.)

This route is one of two limited-stop SMART routes providing service during peak/rush hours on weekdays only that service Woodward Avenue, however route 465 provides reverse-commute peak-hour service. With the exception of the first AM peak trip, supplanting local route 460, the route runs from Woodward Avenue and 13 Mile Road, via Somerset Collection and some trips via the Troy Civic Center park & ride lot, to the Chrysler Tech Center and Centerpoint Parkway in Pontiac. Four trips each are operated in the AM and PM peaks.

History

  • April 1, 1996 - Route introduced.
  • January 1, 2018 - As part of the implementation of Fast Woodward, Route 465 is cut back to end at Somerset Collection, with the exception of one early-morning trip northbound from Detroit which remains operational. As a result, only three buses are needed for this route, with others being freed up to provide service on other Oakland Terminal routes. Each PM peak trip and two AM peak trips begin serving the Troy Civic Center park and ride lot as well.
  • June 18, 2018 - Trips that had ended at Somerset Collection are extended to Woodward and 13 Mile.
  • August 9, 2021 - Route eliminated. Service had already been suspended since April 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic.
