This route services Mack Avenue between Moross Road and Vernier Road, Vernier Road between Mack Avenue and 8 Mile Road, 8 Mile Road between Kelly Road and 10 Mile Road, 10 Mile Road between Kelly Road and Dequindre Road, Dequindre Road between 10 Mile Road and 11 Mile Road, 11 Mile Road between Dequindre Road and Washington Avenue, Washington Avenue between 11 Mile Road and 10 Mile Road, 10 Mile Road between Washington Avenue and Evergreen Road, Evergreen Road between 10 Mile Road and Civic Center Drive, Civic Center Drive between Evergreen Road and Beaumont Boulevard, Beaumont Boulevard between Civic Center Drive and Northwestern Highway, Northwestern Highway between Beaumont Boulevard and Berg Road, Berg Road between Northwestern Highway and 10 Mile Road and 10 Mile Road between Berg Road and Telegraph Road. This route services the Royal Oak Transit Center.

History

  • July 1, 1991 - Route introduced, contracted to ATE Management & Services. Route runs between Eastland Center and the Royal Oak Transit Center via 10 Mile Road.
  • June 9, 1994 - SMART takes over operation after privatization costs are eliminated after ATE's drivers joined the Amalgamated.
  • December 11, 1995 - Route extended west from Royal Oak to Telegraph Road.
  • June 18, 2018 - Route rerouted to service 10 Mile Road between Washington Avenue and Coolidge Highway, with Coolidge Highway service eliminated.
  • January 7, 2019 - Eastbound trips are rerouted at the Royal Oak Transit Center to serve Lafayette Avenue side.
  • January 4, 2021 - Route rerouted to follow route 400 west of Evergreen Road, then returns to 10 Mile Road via Berg Road.
