SynTec Seating Solutions (officially Syntec Seating Solutions, LLC) was a manufacturer of school bus seats based in High Point, North Carolina.

SynTec was the primary seating supplier for Thomas Built Buses, seats are now supplied by SafeGuard.

History

SynTec was a subsidiary of Takata USA, the US-based arm of the now-infamous Takata Corporation. Takata USA purchased SynTec in 2012[1] from M2K LLC, who had previously shared joint-ownership of SynTec with Takata starting in 2009.[2] In July 2020, Indiana Mills & Manufacturing, Inc, better known as IMMI, purchased[3] SynTec from Joyson Safety Systems (formerly Key Safety Systems), who had acquired the company through it's overarching purchase of the bankrupt Takata Corporation in June, 2017.

Under the ownership of IMMI, SynTec seating products are now produced and sold under the SafeGuard brand.
