History
September 4, 2005 - Route is introduced providing new overnight service along Steeles Avenue East between Yonge Street and Middlefield Road. Route made accessible using lift-equipped buses.
August 4, 2013 - Route is extended east from Middlefield Road to Markham Road. Buses loop via Tapscott Road, Passmore Avenue, and Markham Road.
June 21, 2015 - Route extended in the west from Yonge Street to York University in anticipation of the Pan Am/Parapan Am games. Route is renamed from 353 Steeles East to 353 Steeles.
October 11, 2015 - Route is extended in the east to Staines Road and Finchdene Square.
December 17, 2017 - With the opening of the new Line 1 extension, this route is modified to loop the York University grounds via Northwest Gate, Ian MacDonald Boulevard, and The Pond Road. Service is removed from Founders Road and York Boulevard.
March 28, 2021 - This route was transferred to the brand new McNicoll Division.
