The Van Hool TD925 Astromega, part of the Van Hool T9 range, is a double deck coach that can accommodate up to 81 passengers. It was introduced in 2005 and replaced the TD924. A version of the TD925 was made available for the North American market in 2007. This version has the more standard 102 inch-width and more pronounced bumpers. In addition, the tail lights used were sourced from Hella and shared with the C2045.
The European TD925, including the right-hand-drive version, was replaced by the TDX25 in late 2011. The North American TD925 was replaced by a version of the TDX25, known as the TDX, in 2015.
ABC Companies introduced a TD925 refurbishment program in May 2015. Included are conversions to recreational vehicle or open-top sightseer known as the TD925 Sky Deck. The roof is removed and the top deck is stripped. Weatherproof seats and finishes are installed, as well as a drainage system. The recreational conversion is available with an open deck at the rear of the second level as well as a "Race Deck" on the roof of the front portion with collapsible roof railing. Refurbished buses may feature the updated TDX front end.[1]
