Virginia Railway Express V30-V36

Virginia Railway Express V30-V36 were 1979-1987 EMD F40PH-2 locomotives.

They were originally delivered to Amtrak, and were leased either from Amtrak or a third party. V30-V33 were acquired in 2003-2004 when increased ridership and longer trains required additional and more capable power; V34-V36 were leased to replace old locomotives while waiting for their new MPI MP36-3C locomotives to enter service.
