Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority 5401-5422

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority 5401-5422 were 2008 NABI 60-BRT CNG buses.

These buses were ordered to replace some of the 1995 American Ikarus buses (5201-5245). All units have primarily operated out of Bladensburg garage.

Beginning in 2019, all buses began to be placed in the reserve fleet. During this time, they were notably used for the Metrorail Blue/Yellow line shuttles following the transfer of 5460-5480 to Bladensburg. All units were retired by March 2021, and were replaced by 5500-5541. They were auctioned off for scrap in May 2021.
