Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority 6510-6609 are 2010 model New Flyer DE40LFA buses built between 2010 and 2011.

These buses were ordered to replace the remaining Flxible Metro B and D units (9301-9413, 9421-9463, 9481-9498, 9701-9785, 9801-9818, and 9819-9835).

6550-6561 were repainted into the REX livery in 2014, but were repainted back into the local scheme during their mid-life refurbishment.

During the spring of 2021, six units (6568, 6577, 6584-6585, 6591, and 6609) were sold to Fairfax Connector as part of a takeover of 5 Metrobus lines effective July 10, 2021.
