The Wilson Transit System is the public transportation provider for the city of Wilson, NC.
History
Originally operated as a traditional fixed-route system, the Wilson Transit System rebranded on September 2nd, 2020 as RIDE and completely replaced their routes with a new, on-demand microtransit service model.[1] After 1.5 years (April 2022), the city determined that the on-demand service was successful, and the decision was made to permanently scrap the fixed-route system.[2] The RIDE system is operated by the Via Transportation ridesharing company.
