The Wright GB Hawk is an integral, low floor single deck bus. Similar in design to the Wright GB Kite, it uses an internal combustion engine instead. It was launched in early 2021 and replaced the Wright Eclipse 3, which was built on the Volvo Buses B8RLE chassis.
The engine, supplied by Mercedes-Benz is mounted longitudinally at the rear on the left side. The GB Hawk is also available with Wright’s Micro Hybrid Technology. The bus operates like a conventional diesel vehicle, however the energy that is recovered during braking is used to power various electrical accessories such as air compressor, radiator fans, and power steering.
