The Wright Gemini 2 DL is a low floor double deck bus. In development since 2007, the Gemini 2 was launched at the 2008 Euro Bus Expo. It is marketed as a complete bus and uses chassis modules from VDL Bus & Coach.
The chassis, known as the DB300, has a flat radiator design that sits high above the ground. It is available with a conventional diesel or diesel-electric hybrid powertrain. The diesel Gemini 2 is denoted by the abbreviation DL, whereas the hybrid model is denoted by the abbreviation HEV.
A low height variant at 4.23 metres versus the standard 4.4 metre height was introduced in October 2009. Wright had intended to produce a low height Gemini 2, but it didn't reach production until they were approached by Arriva. The first low height variant was delivered to Arriva Yorkshire.[1]
