York Region Transit 1801-1826

York Region Transit 1801-1826 are 2019 model New Flyer XD40 buses built and delivered in 2018.

Unlike all conventional bus orders since 2007, which were purchased through the Metrolinx Transit Procurement Initiative, this order came from a separate tender issued by York Region in July 2017 for the supply and delivery of conventional 12 meter buses for the next three years. Both New Flyer and Nova Bus submitted bids; with New Flyer's bid having the lowest bid price, they were awarded the contract the following November.

These are YRT's first deliveries from New Flyer since 2014, and the first to come equipped with EPA2017-standard engines and transmissions. Changes from previous orders include Luminator Horizon destination signs (as TwinVision had been acquired by Luminator), digital next stop information screens, new Init control panels, a new design of front headlights and extra exterior lights over the front and rear doors. All visual changes that were presented in 2015-2017 Nova buses (such as new logos and rear windows) are ignored except for a rear exterior camera and additional stop request buttons.
