York Region Transit 2044-2047 were MCI TC40-102N "Classic" buses built and delivered in 1989.

They were originally from Markham Transit, and acquired by YRT during amalgamation in 2001.

All 4 units retained their rollsigns, unlike their 1990 cousins, which were retrofited to have Luminator Matrix:MAX signs.

These buses were often found on school specials, as well as routes 1 Highway 7, 2 Milliken, 2A 14th Ave, 8 Kennedy, 9 9th Line, 18 Bur Oak, 40 Unionville Local, 41 Markham Local and GO shuttles.

All units were retired upon delivery of the 901-945 series.
