York Region Transit 224-233 were Orion 05.501 buses built in 2002, and acquired by YRT in 2003. They were originally GO Transit 1164-1173, and were bought in August 2003 with the transfer of the Bayview and Yonge 'C' services to YRT. They were renumbered into the standard YRT numbering, with a 2 for its year of make (2002).
227-229 had one window with a tip-in transom on each side. As all these buses were built with windows that don't open, this is likely to help with ventilation if the air conditioning fails.
When these vehicles were first introduced to YRT, they were mainly restricted to 91 Bayview and 99 Yonge 'C', the same routes they operated on with GO Transit.

Front destination sign was originally programmed as a smaller Horizon sign, and therefore it added the right portion of the side to the left (see thumbnail). This was fixed as of February 2009. | ||
