York Region Transit 301-310
York Region Transit 301-310 were Orion 05.501 buses built in 2003. These buses were ordered mainly to replace the D40S buses from Markham Transit's express services, and for expansion of express services. 301-306 had 'Express' stickers on the side until they were repainted in 2012, while 307-310 never carried 'Express' stickers.
Due to new 1500-series deliveries in 2015, a few units from this series were retired and some moved around. The remaining active Southwest division assigned units from the 307-310 group were transferred to Southeast division to join the rest of the 300's. The four at Southwest had long been primarily assigned to route 360, which started using conventional low-floor buses in 2014.
Some of the remaining vehicles received a minor refresh in 2016, which included a rebuilt powertrain and installation of new LED headlights.
All remaining buses were retired by September 2017 and replaced by 1615-1617. In early May 2018, tenders for disposal were awarded to a scrap dealer in Port Perry for the 8 retired units.
