York Region Transit 991-996

York Region Transit 991-996 were ElDorado E-Z Rider II MAX buses built and delivered in 2009.

This batch was ordered specifically for Community Bus routes, and had a number of different features. They had a modified low-floor seating arrangement to allow for 3 wheelchair positions, and had ramps at both the front and rear doors. Another difference from the previous E-Z Rider II batch was the fleet numbers on this series were in a more bolded font.

These buses operated primarily on Community Bus routes 520/521 Newmarket Local, 522 Markham Local, and 589/590 Richmond Hill Local; but they could occasionally be seen on lower-ridership conventional routes in Markham and Richmond Hill, including routes 9, 80, 82, and 91B. All units were originally based out of Southwest Division; however, some vehicles were transferred in August 2012 in order to minimize deadheading times.

These buses were all for expansion, replacing the ELF 125 buses (381-385, 481-483, and 591-598) previously used on community routes. The ELFs went to normal Mobility Plus service.
