BoltBus
BoltBus was a low-cost bus line servicing the Northeastern US from Washington DC to Boston. Destinations also included Baltimore, the Greenbelt Metro station in Greenbelt, MD, Philadelphia, Cherry Hill and Newark, New Jersey, and New York City. BoltBus was a 50/50 partnership between Greyhound Lines and Peter Pan Bus Lines.[1] They offered trips as low as $1.00 with a $0.50 booking fee similar to Megabus, which the company exploited through the slogan "Bolt For A Buck". BoltBus also competed with Lucky Star bus company, who offers discount service between the Chinatowns of New York City and Boston.[1] In the 2010 movie "Salt", Angelina Jolie's character is seen riding Boltbus.
BoltBus also had service in the Pacific Northwest between Portland, OR and Vancouver, BC. Destinations also includes Bellingham, WA and Seattle, WA. In 2013 service in Oregon was extended south to Eugene, with a stop in Albany.
In 2013, BoltBus started up a new service in California, between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Locations serviced include Oakland, San Jose, Barstow, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, NV.
On June 7, 2021, BoltBus announced its services would be operated by parent company Greyhound. Ultimately BoltBus officially ceased operations all together on July 1, 2021.
