CPTDB Wiki:Administrators' Noticeboard

Welcome to the incident noticeboard. This page is for reporting and discussing incidents on the CPTDB Wiki that require the intervention of administrators. Any user of the CPTDB Wiki may post here.

Please make your comments civil and please include differences to help us find the problem you are reporting. As a courtesy, you should inform other users if they are mentioned in a posting. Please make your comments concise as Administrators are less likely to pay attention to long diatribes.

Before posting a grievance about a user here, it is advised that you take it up with them on their user talk page. Also please take a look at the CPTDB Wiki:Naming Conventions and CPTDB Wiki:Editing Rules to see if the solution to the issue is there.

Please add new incident reports to the bottom of this page; click here to leave a new message. Sign your post with "~~~~", which translates into a signature and a time stamp automagically.

Timmins Transit

the changes made by the Moderator on Timmins Transit falls under these rules There shall be no ficticious fleets included on any CPTDB Wiki page.

Personal observations are not to be included in the CPTDB Wiki.

I was the one who made the comments on the Thread That it was given 89 yet he has chosen to believe that my hearsay post='104457' in gospel and will have me banned if i choose to disagree with his comments that this bus is actually in the fleet. Its not in the fleet until its in revenue service. I take this as bad form when a person in Kingston disagrees about a bus a thousand miles away in Timmins with a person who lives here! Also I Didn't know he was a moderator until after he locked the thread and complained to me on my page. If he had have indicated he was a moderator when he was changing the page back, i would have contacted the owner before this morning.OC 8208 06:36, 13 November 2007 (PST)

Response The info was from a post by User:OC 8208 on the CPTDB Wiki under the thread Timmins Transit (link to post). It states

89 will officially be given to the dennis... we saw it today in the parking lot of kal tire across from walmart...
sorry didn't have time to snag a pic... as i wasn't behind the wheel of the car

Based on this User:04.501 added it to the Timmins Transit page. It was removed from the page by User:OC8208 with the summary.

89 not officially on the road yet so not active

I readded 89 with the note 'Not yet in service' and once more User:OC8208 removed it, this time with the summary:

89 is NOT active do not re add until this bus is officially in revenue service thank you we have had in this town
buses that were purchased assigned numbers and then returned

I therefore re-added this bus in a new section of the page titled: Buses not yet in service

Fleet Number Range Thumbnail Year Manufacturer Model Number Engine Transmission Notes
? 2003 Thomas SLF-235 Powered by a Mercedes Benz engine.

Ex-Demo unit
Maybe numbered 89

User:OC8208 has reverted the page twice since that table was added, for a total of four reverts. I temporarily protected the Timmins Transit page. Despite advising User:OC8208 that I am a moderator he continued to argue the point and escalated it to the wiki owner, therefore not accepting my decision regarding the matter.

As for his comment that:

Personal observations are not to be included in the CPTDB Wiki.

Most of this board is based on personal observations, the type of observation not allowed is that 'bus x was seen on route y on date z'. D40LF 09:17, 13 November 2007 (PST)

While I appreciate your hard work on the wiki, I think you are going too far on this. You need to loosen up and appreciate the fact that people are contributing to the wiki as they are. Your actions make it seem you do not appreciate any such thing. I am going to tell you this, after looking at your wall, that NFTA-Metro is the official name of the Transit System. I have been down there, looked at route maps and publications, and NOWHERE did it say Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority. All publications said NFTA Metro. That is the official name, hence why it is used in publications and such. 19 Hurontario 07:49, 31 January 2008 (PST)

Based upon the situation that is evolving it would seem that User:19 Hurontario maybe a sock for User:Orion VIII. Either way both of these, or this person, is disrespectful of the Wiki's moderators. D40LF 07:57, 31 January 2008 (PST)

Rest of converstion moved to User talk:D40LF as this is not the place for conversations but the
reporting of incidents. D40LF 19:14, 31 January 2008 (PST)
