Mississauga Transit 0301-0344

Mississauga Transit 0301-0344 are New Flyer D40LF buses built in 2003. They were ordered in June 2002, and began arriving in mid-July 2003.

Upon entering service, these buses replaced 8401-8415, 8501, and some of 8601-8609, with the remainder of the buses expanding the fleet. The buses were rushed into service soon after delivery. In mid 2014, a few buses received new paint jobs and their Mississauga Transit logo on the sides removed.

Retirement

Retirement was expected to occur in two groups of 22 buses in 2014 and 2015 however the agency's 12 year life plan were changed to 15 years for 40 foot buses. In 2016, the City of Mississauga received PTIF funding to replace older buses and to acquire more buses for service expansion in late 2016. Nova Bus was selected to manufacture and deliver 37 new LFS buses to replace all 2003 D40LF buses. These buses are now slated for retirement in early 2018.
