The GE40LF is a hybrid version of the popular D40LF model by New Flyer Industries. This bus uses a small gasoline engine and an electric drive.

The first GE40LF, serial 27844, was produced for Long Beach Transit in Long Beach, CA, USA. It is numbered 2401.

Equipped in conjunction with a Ford Triton V10 6.8L engine.
