The Schenectady Railway Company is a former privately-owned public transportation agency that provided streetcar, interurban and bus service between 1895 and 1952.
The agency was reorganized as the Schenectady Transportation Corporation between 1952-1970, reflecting the rise of bus services compared to the demise of the streetcar; the Schenectady Transit System, between 1970 and 1971, and the Capital District Transportation Authority from 1971 to the present.
