Stagecoach Midlands
Stagecoach Midlands is a bus operator in Northamptonshire and Warwickshire, England. It is a division of Stagecoach Group.
History
Stagecoach purchased Western Travel; this included Midland Red South, which was rebranded to Stagecoach Midland Red. The route network that Stagecoach inherited was simplified over the years, which included the closure of garages in Coventry and Stratford in 1999. The remaining operations in Leamington, Nuneaton and Rugby were rebranded as Stagecoach in Warwickshire in 2000, while Banbury operations were transferred to Stagecoach Oxford in 2002. Stagecoach purchased the Stratford operations from Ensignbus in 2007.
A reorganization in 2010 merged Stagecoach in Warwickshire with Stagecoach in Northants (previously with Stagecoach East) to form a new Stagecoach Midlands division. The new division continues to use the historic company names as its legal registrations: Midland Red South for operations in Warwickshire, and United Counties Omnibus Company for operations in Northhamptonshire.
