The DE40i is the hybrid version of the D40i "Invero". Stewart and Stevenson installed GM-Allison hybrid systems in four Inveros for the RFTA of Aspen, Colorado in 2005. Though New Flyer began offering this model alongside the diesel model, the only examples running in revenue service are those four for the RFTA.
