The 80X is part of the County Connector network, which is a network of routes operated by Skagit Transit, Whatcom Transportation Authority and Island Transit connecting the three counties that the agencies serve.

Route Details

This north-south bus route runs between Skagit Station and Bellingham Station. Nine trips operate in each direction on weekdays, with six northbound and five southbound trips operating in each direction on weekends^[1]. Skagit Transit operates about one half of the trips, with WTA operating the remainder.

Northbound trips depart Skagit Station west on E Montgomery Street, south on S 3rd Street, east on W Kincaid Street becoming E Kincaid Street, north on I-5, south on N Burlington Blvd and west on Hansen Place to Chuckanut Park & Ride. From there, the route heads east on Hansen Place, north on N Burlington Blvd and north on I-5 to Alger Park & Ride. The route then continues north on I-5 and north on S Samish Way to Lincoln Creek Park & Ride. From the Park & Ride, the route heads south on S Samish Way, north on I-5, south on King Street, west on Lakeway Drive and west on E Holly Street to Bellingham Station.

Southbound trips depart Bellingham Station east on E Magnolia Street, south on Ellis Street, east on E Maple Street and south on N Samish Way becoming S Samish Way to Lincoln Creek Park & Ride. From there, the route heads south on S Samish Way and south on I-5 to Alger Park & Ride. From there, the route continues south on I-5, south on N Burlington Blvd and west on Hansen Place to Chuckanut Park & Ride. From there, the route heads east on Hansen Place, north on N Burlington Blvd and south on I-5 to Skagit Station.

On weekdays, three northbound morning peak trips and four afternoon peak southbound trips operate between Lincoln Creek Park & Ride and the WWU Campus, as route 80S Lincoln Creek / WWU. These trips run hourly, and are intended for connections with route 80X buses. These northbound AM trips depart Lincoln Creek Park & Ride south on Lincoln Street, west on S Samish Way, west on Bill McDonald Parkway, west on W College Way, north on Highland Drive and north on High Street to Haggard Hall. These southbound PM peak trips depart the WWU Viking Union south on High Street, south on Highland Drive, south on W College Way, east on Bill McDonald Parkway, east on S Samish Way and north on Lincoln Street to Lincoln Creek Park & Ride. All route 80S trips are operated with WTA buses.
