Route Details
This was an east-west circular route running in the Ladner area of Delta. Service ran daily every 30 minutes and every 40 minutes on Sundays/holidays.
Trips departed Ladner Exchange heading north on Harvest Drive, east on Ladner Trunk Road, south on 66 Street, west on Holly Park Drive, north on 62 Street, west on Ladner Trunk Road, and south on Harvest Drive to Ladner Exchange.
One roundtrip starting at Ladner Exchange during the AM peak ran with conventional buses in the form of a New Flyer D40LFR, New Flyer XD40 or New Flyer XN40.
When school was in session, one afternoon trip that went towards East Ladner only came off from a 606 Ladner Ring school trip in the form of a Nova Bus LFS Suburban or Orion V (or on rare occasions, a New Flyer XD40 or Nova Bus LFS).

History
- March 1990 - Parts of what would become significant portions of today's 617 routing was proposed as 615 Ladner Ring, a peak-hour service to the Sunrise housing development in East Ladner running along Holly Park Drive and Brodie Road every 30 minutes[1]
- May 1990 - Plans for introducing the 615 Ladner Ring shelved after heavy residential opposition to bus service on Holly Park Drive[2]
- December 2005 - Service introduced as C87 East Ladner/Ladner Exchange[3]
- Fall 2008 - Operations transferred from Richmond Transit Centre to Surrey Transit Centre
- May 2017 - Service proposed to be discontinued due to extremely low ridership[4]
- September 2018 - Community Shuttle branding dissolved: Route renumbered from C87 to 617 with no changes in routing or frequency[5]
- September 2020 - Shuttle operations transferred from Surrey Transit Centre to Hamilton Transit Centre
- January 18–June 20, 2021 - Introduction of an overload trip running with New Flyer XD40 or Nova Bus LFS units on weekday afternoons that came off from an overload 601 Ladner Exchange trip
- September 2021 - Route discontinued due to extremely low ridership and the extension of the 310 Scottsdale/Ladner further west into Ladner Village
