BC Transit 5505-5539 were GMDD T6H-5306 "New Look" buses built in 1969 for BC Hydro Transit as 3738-3754, 4734-4740, 5701-5707, and 5801-5805.

BC Hydro Transit fleet ownership to Urban Transit Authority (UTA) and operations assumed by Metro Transit Operating Company (MTOC) in April 1980. UTA renamed BC Transit in 1982; MTOC operations in Vancouver and Victoria moved into BC Transit in April 1985
