Metropolitan Transportation Authority 8801-8933 were GMC T6H-5305A buses built in 1968. They were the city's first express buses, as most of them were used on express routes. The buses used on express routes had upholstered high back 2x2 seats. Several of these buses would be rebuilt by Blitz Body Company between 1984-1985, due to the permeant removal of the Grumman 870 buses.

Details
- 8910-8933 were delivered from GM with 2x2 seats for express routes.
- 8858-8871, 8879-8893 were retrofitted with soft seats to operate express routes.
- 8829-8878 were equipped with Bus-O-Rama panels for advertisements.
