The Solaris Bus & Coach Urbino is a range of fully or partially low floor city buses. The buses have a distinctive windscreen design which Solaris believes improves visibility on the open side of the vehicle. The Urbino is available in lengths of 8.9 metres to 18 metres, and is available in a fully diesel, diesel-electric hybrid, CNG, or battery-electric power configuration.

The Urbino's body frame is made of welded 1.4003 grade stainless steel in large-section profiles to increase rigidity, ensure resistance to vibrations, and reduce noise levels. Side panels are of 1.4003 grade stainless sheets with lower sections made of DIBOND composite material. The front and rear of the Urbino are made from glass-reinforced plastic.[1]

Solaris introduced their first version of the battery-electric powered Urbino in 2011 at Transexpo. The 8.9 metre low entry bus had a battery capacity of 120 kilowatt hours and offered a range of 100 kilometres. The traction motor was supplied by Vossloh Kiepe.
