The Scranton Transit Company is a former public transportation carrier operating in the city of Scranton. Pennsylvania, between 1934 and 1972. Service had previously been operated by the Scranton Railway Company, between 1896 and 1934. In 1972, services were surrendered to the County of Lackawanna Transit System.

  • 1923: Scranton Railway Company becomes subsidiary of American Electric Power Company.
  • 1925: Scranton Railway Company becomes subsidiary of National Public Services Corporation.
  • 1928: Scranton Railway Company becomes subsidiary of Middle West Utilities Company.
  • 1932: Scranton Railway Company becomes subsidiary of Municipal Service Company.
