Route 96 is a bus route operated by OC Transpo in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Route Details
Route 96 is a regular crosstown route that runs from Merivale to Greenboro Station off peak or to Hurdman Station during peak periods. Route 80 offers supplementary service on Merivale, MacFarlane and the business park. The first two trips in the AM peak run from Greenboro Station to Colonnade (OC Transpo Merivale Garage). Late night trip at 11:15 PM departs from Lowe's on Hunt Club Road to Greenboro Station. Some tips begin at MacFarlane & Briggs and end at Greenboro on weekends.
History
September 3rd, 2017
- Route 116 is renumbered to local Route 96 in preparations for the launch of the O-Train Confederation Line in 2018.
April 22nd, 2018
- Trips that operate between Merivale/Slack and Lincoln Fields Station will become new local limited service Route 186.
March 30th, 2020
- Due to low ridership from the COVID-19 outbreak. Service will be reduced to operate every 30 minutes.
May 3rd, 2020
- Line 2 train service at Greenboro will be replaced with Line 2 Bus service in preparations for the launch of Stage 2 LRT in 2022.
June 28th, 2020
- Will be in service and will operate the same route network that was in place from January to March 2020, with some seasonal adjustments.
September 5th, 2021
- The morning trip to École secondaire publique Omer-Deslauriers at 8:11 AM will now depart Hurdman Station at 8:06 AM.
- The afternoon trip from École secondaire publique Omer-Deslauriers at 3:45 PM will now depart to Hurdman Station at 3:34 PM.
