History

100-109 are options for 10 hybrid-electric 35 ft buses exercised off of WCBL's first XDE40 order. They were purchased to replace the remaining 2004 OBI Orion V (05.505) buses assigned to both Liberty Lines and P.T.L.A. services. The first buses were delivered in December 2023, and 104 was the first to enter service on route 78 on January 4th, 2024. A number of buses originally destined for P.T.L.A. were (temporarily?) diverted to Liberty Lines Transit in February 2024 for unknown reasons. These buses operate out of both of Liberty Lines' garages, Yonkers and Valhalla, primarily for the 9 and White Plains business loops respectively, though they are liable to be found on any Liberty Lines-operated route.
