Route 183 was a bus route operated by OC Transpo in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Route Details
Route 183 was a regular limited service route that operated between Kanata and Goulbourn. Service operated only twice in each direction every 10.5 hours on Friday with 3 trips on Saturday in each direction every 2 hours. It primarily acted as a bus route for residents in Richmond, Ontario to connect with shopping malls at Hazeldean and Kanata Town Centre or to act as an alternative to Route 283, avoiding having to pay a rural express fare and instead transfer at Kanata Town Centre to take Route 97 onward.
History
September 1st, 2002
- New regular route that will operate between Richmond and Fallowfield Station, Monday to Saturday, approximately every two hours.
August 31st, 2003
- Has been changed to operate a few trips on Fridays and Saturdays only, due to low ridership.
- Based on input from the community, route has been rerouted to travel from Richmond via Stittsville to Hazeldean Mall and Kanata Town Centre. Customers have a connection to Routes 97 and 118, as well as shopping and entertainment in Kanata.
June 27th, 2004
- Route is cancelled due to major budget cuts in the city’s operating budget.
- Alternavtive service is availible on Route 283. Rural express fare will be required.
