Route 20 was a bus route operated by OC Transpo in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Route Details
Route 20 was a peak period express route that ran from South Orléans (Portobello & Summer Sky) to Downtown. This route operates Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 9:00am (AM peak) and 3:00pm to 6:00pm (PM peak). 20A travels along the western part of Princess Louise, between Montcrest and Charlemagne. 20B serves the eastern part of Princess Louise.
History
September 3rd, 2000
- New route that will provide the new development south of Innes Road, along Portobello and Nantes, with an express route direct to downtown.
- It will also supplement service in Fallingbrook along Gardenway and Charlemagne.
December 13th, 2001
- Removed from Nantes and extended along Portobello to start near Martello to better serve the community.
September 4th, 2004
- Service will be extended south along Portobello to better serve the growing community.
November 16th, 2009
- AM trips no longer served the Place d'Orleans Park & Ride stop.
September 6th, 2009
- Route was changed to run from Portobello via Valin, Varennes, Watters, Montcrest and Princess Louise to Charlemagne replacing a portion of Route 36.
- New branch 20B is created to make some trips faster for customers negatively affected by the cancelling of Route 30.
- Service is removed from Gardenway, alternative service is available with revised Route 27.
November 28th, 2009
- AM trips no longer deviate to serve Place d'Orleans Park & Ride stop.
April 17th, 2011
- No boarding from Blair Station to Train Station is allowed.
December 22nd, 2013
- Extended along Portobello, south of Brian Coburn, to improve service for new residents in the Summerside and Avalon communities.
June 28th, 2015
- No service to Lees, Hurdman, Train or Cyrville Stations.
- No service at St-Laurent Station heading east in the afternoon.
December 20th, 2015
- Ends at Albert/Bay in the morning.
- Does not serve Blair Station eastbound in the afternoon.
April 24th, 2016
- No longer serves Campus Station. Travels via Highway 417 and Nicholas Street between Laurier and east-end stations.
December 25th, 2016
- Route 20A is combined with Route 120 to become new local Route 33.
- Route 20B is renumbered to Connexion Route 233 in preparations for the launch of the O-Train Confederation Line in 2018.
- Express premium no longer required.
- Morning trips to downtown serve the Place d’Orléans Park & Ride platform. Afternoon trips serve the main Place d’Orléans platform.
