Société de transport de Salaberry-de-Valleyfield
Société de transport de Salaberry-de Valleyfield (STSV) (formerly Taxibus Valleyfield) provides public transportation to the municipality of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. The service is made up primarily of Taxibus service but also includes two scheduled bus services operated under contract by Groupe Transbus.
History
Prior to 1984, service to Valleyfield was to provided by the CTCUM. In 1984, with the creation of the CIT system Salaberry-de-Valleyfield joined the CIT du Sud-Ouest with a sole route (Line 1) linking the city centre to Angrignon métro station on the STM's Green Line
Between 2003 and 2014, some rush-hour departures were extended to Terminus Centre-ville in downtown Montreal. This extension was cancelled in 2014 due to low ridership and replaced by a single-departure extension of Chateauguay's route 28.
In January 2019, Taxibus Valleyfield took over route 99, previously operated by CIT du Sud-Ouest which links Valleyfield's city centre with Gare Vaudreuil on exo's Vaudreuil-Hudson line
In January 2021, STSV took over the Valleyfield portion of route 1, previously operated by exo Sud-Ouest and replaced it with route 11.
In August 2021, exo Sud-Ouest returned to Valleyfield providing limited, non-local service into downtown Valleyfield. STSV Route 11 remains with a renewed focus on local service within the city of Valleyfield as well as for travel to Saint-Timothée, Mélocheville and Beauharnois.
