Route Details
The 506 runs north from the Bowmanville Park and Ride, to the community of Orono in Clarington, making local stops along the way through the communities of Bowmanville, Wilmot Creek, Newcastle and Port of Newcastle. The Due to the low population and poor connectivity or other areas, most of the population in these areas have a personal vehicle, resulting in a relatively low ridership for this route. Because of that factor, this route only has one complete trip in each direction and two trips between Newcastle, Wilmot Creek and Bowmanville and back, each day, Monday-Friday.
Route History
Route 506 was created in 2016, this route merged and replaced route 503 Wilmot Creek that provided service between Bowmanville and Wilmot Creek, and route 504 King-Newcastle which provided service from Bowmanville to Newcastle and Port of Newcastle via King Street (Durham Highway 2).

This route only has one complete trip in each direction and two trips between Newcastle, Wilmot Creek and Bowmanville and back, each day, Monday-Friday.
