95 Langford / Downtown is a Blink RapidBus route operated by Victoria Regional Transit System in Greater Victoria, BC.

Route description

Route 95 serves the communities of Downtown Victoria, Uptown, Colwood, and Langford. Its eastern terminus is Legislature Exchange, and its western terminus is Langford Exchange. With its frequency and direct routing, it is the main route between Downtown Victoria and the Western Communities.

Eastbound trips depart Langford Exchange heading west on Station Avenue, north on Jacklin Road, east on Goldstream Avenue, north on Island Highway and onto the Trans-Canada Highway heading eastbound with stops on the off-ramps at Helmcken as well as Admirals. Trips continue east via the Trans-Canada Highway which continues onto Douglas Street, west on Belleville Street, and south on Government Street to the Legislature Terminus.

Westbound trips depart the Legislature terminus heading south on Government street, east on Superior Street, and north on Douglas Street which continues onto the Trans-Canada Highway. From there, trips serve on-ramp stops at McKenzie and Helmcken before exiting onto Island Highway heading south, then east on Goldstream Avenue, south on Jacklin Road, east on Langford Parkway, north on Phipps Road, and west on Station Avenue to Langford Exchange.

One westbound trip on weekday mornings begins at Colwood Exchange and continues as route 61 Sooke / Langford / Downtown towards Sooke after arriving at Langford Exchange.

It is designated as a Blink RapidBus route, operating every 15 minutes daily with limited stops.

History

  • September 2, 2014: Late-night service on Fridays and Saturdays introduced on route 50 [1]
  • June 2021: Plans unveiled at Colwood Exchange for the implementation of a RapidBus service connecting Langford Exchange and Downtown Victoria.[2]
  • April 10, 2023: Blink RapidBus service introduced. Route 50 replaced by new route 95 along the same routing, with more frequency and fewer stops.[3] Interline with route 61 at Langford Exchange discontinued.
  • September 5, 2023: Late night service on Fridays and Saturdays extended [4]
