Durham Region Transit 8129-8132

Durham Region Transit 8129-8132 were 1991 model Orion 05.501 buses built in 1990 and obtained by DRT in 2006. They were originally delivered new to the Oshawa Transit Commission as 129-132. All these buses were replaced by the 2011 Xcelsior order.

These buses have treadle operated double stream rear doors. All have been refurbished.

In February 2010, DRT planned to send over 8129-8131 along with 8133 to Whitby from Oshawa to replace the retiring buses: 8311, 8312, 8314, and 8315. 8130 and 8131 were sent to Whitby in February and March, and 8135 sent in lieu of 8133. 8129 will be sent to Whitby when 8411, which had a minor fire, returns to service. The buses sent to Whitby had their rollsigns replaced with the electronic signs from the retired Whitby buses so that they can display Whitby routes.
